Kids marvel when they watch Science Mike

Science Mike took center stage and turned Headquarters Library into a Summer Reading science show. He used drawings, kids twirling long noodles and mirrors to amaze and delight the room packed with kids from O2B Kids and Star Christian Academy. Everyone including dads and moms watched in amazement as heads blew up like a balloons (not really but it looked like it), objects appeared to pass through hands and images totally changed when you looked again.

One adult taking it all in, said he came to get ideas for things to do with his kids. Maybe a better way to amaze your children is to catch Science Mike at his next library stop.

Science Mike will show off his collection of optical illusions, toys and science demonstrations again:

Thurs., July 17, 2 p.m., Newberry Branch

Fri., July 25, 2 p.m., Millhopper Branch

Sat. July 26, 1 p.m., Cone Park Branch
