The Baird Mansion combines Victorian style architecture with a slightly haunted appearance. The mansion is located at 309 SE 7th St, which was formerly 505 Roper Ave SE. This historic section of Gainesville was part of the original town plan of 1854. The style is actually ornate Second French Empire, and this sets it apart in the Southeast part of Gainesville. The Bairds lived in the house for almost 70 years. Please join us on Sunday, August 7 at 2:00 at Headquarters to learn more with Melanie Barr, local preservationist and former chair of the Alachua County Historical Commission.
