Millhopper's Favorite Manga

Believe it or not I used to be a huge otaku. It started when I was in middle school and picked up video tapes of Ranma ½ from the Headquarters Library. I knew all the Sailor Scouts names in both the English and Japanese version. I went to anime conventions with my friends and cosplayed my favorite characters.

That was all several years ago now. I sometimes pick up a series when it crosses the desk and the person returning it recommends it. My latest interest is Library Wars. A manga with soldier librarians fighting censorship from the government? Heck yah!

I decided to find out what good series are out now that I’m missing so I made a quick poll and placed it on the back of the teen event flyer. There were so many I didn’t know about! I also saw a lot of my old favorites like Kodocha. I love Kodocha! The scene in the first episode of the anime when Sana breaks out in her rap makes me laugh every time. My sister recommended Black Butler a few months ago so that’s two people suggesting it. Noblesse looks really good but it isn’t available in English. How are you reading it?

Here is a list of all the favorites from your fellow Millhopper manga readers. I linked the titles we own so you can place it on hold. If we don’t own something you can suggest we add it to the collection or find it in another library through interlibrary loan.

One last thing; not all manga is for kids. A lot of manga have a rating you can find on the back cover.
