October is National Dyslexia Month. Dyslexia is characterized by difficulties with accurate and / or fluent word recognition and by poor spelling and decoding abilities.
The Alachua County Library District will be hosting The Neuro-development of Words – NOW!® Company at the Millhopper, Newberry, Alachua and Tower branches. NOW! Programs provides research-based courses that prevent or improve learning difficulties and enrich language skills for children and adults.
Neuro-development of Words - NOW! staff members will provide information about dyslexia, including its causes and warning signs, as well as research showing that reading difficulties can be prevented and reading skills improved in struggling readers of all ages.
