Newberry's wonderful summer interns!

We are very fortunate again this semester to have three awesome kids with totally different skills and backgrounds. They are learning what happens behind-the-scenes at your local public library, working on special projects, and checking patrons in and out.

Plus they are getting a paycheck!  For some, this is their very first "real" job. Please welcome our interns to your Newberry Branch Library the next time you see them.

Avery will be a senior this year at Newberry High School. She is involved with the Student Government Association, is a Thespian with the Drama department, has been an outstanding student in AP classes, and even has been a camera operator working at the city commission meetings at Newberry Town Hall. If you've gone to the meetings, you might have seen her there.

 BAYLEIGH BRUCKNER

Bayleigh has recently graduated from Newberry High School, but is planning to attend the University of Montana-Western at the end of this year.  She loves reading, acting, drawing, and painting-- anything that has to do with art.  She plans on being a drama or theater arts teacher because she enjoys teaching people how to act and perform and those skills will certainly come in handy helping library patrons.

Dylan will also be a senior this year at Newberry High School, but is duel enrolled at Santa Fe College working toward his  AA degree. He is actively involved in the National Honor Society and has been running cross country and track for two years so far.  He also volunteers for the Santa Fe College Police Department's Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) program. He has a passion for books, movies, comic books, and music which is what we have lots of here at the library!

Fall internship and 2017 dates are already posted, so don't delay on getting those applications in.
