The Alachua County Library District has a fairly new eSource called OneClick which carries eAudiobooks of various genres. These eAudiobooks are downloaded onto your device so that you can go anywhere with your favorite book. OneClick has fiction eAudiobooks by Ian McEwan, Michael Connelly, Brad Thor, William Shakespeare, just to name a few. OneClick also has non-fiction eAudiobooks by such authors as Thomas Paine, Stephen E. Ambrose, George Carlin, and Charles Dickens. You will also find genres like Science Fiction, Romance, Mystery, and Westerns. Whatever genre you like to listen to check with OneClick for downloads. OneClick users must first register for an account online in their browser (it's not possible to register in the app).
Safari Tech and Business Books provides patrons with eBooks that are read online using your browser. Safari has thousands of titles to choose from, unlimited checkouts, no downloading necessary and no waiting. Interested in Java development, mobile development, game programming, database programming, etc.? Safari has the online books for you, but there is more. Safari has video courses in subjects such as desktop and web applications, engineering, digital media, math & science. For 2016, Safari has 388 video courses on subjects such as Git, Access 2016, Python, Cisco, CSS specialist, RHCE, and more. Safari’s 45,357 titles are reliable and provided by the world’s leading publishers and authors.
Every year, more and more magazines can be found online as publishers seek to lower the cost of printing and mailing magazines. ACLD has a eSource named Zinio which contains approximately 100 eMagazine titles. These have the same articles as the print magazines. Ever looked on the library’s magazine shelves and that one title is not there. Look to Zinio for Analog, Car & Driver, Florida Design, House Beautiful, Men’s Health, Popular Mechanics, Rolling Stone, Time, to name a few. Also Zinio has eMagazines that the library does not have in print, such as Newsweek, Organic Gardener, Parenting, Vogue, and Whole Living. Looking for magazines to keep the kids happy, Zinio has Chickadee, Seventeen, Star Wars: the Clone Wars, and Teen Vogue. This list is just a sample of what Zinio offers ACLD’s patrons.
