Join our summer with the library program and start your very own garden!  Tell us about the seeds you are growing and/or upload a photo to our Facebook page! While the summer may be too hot to plant most crops, here is a list of some crops that thrive best in Florida's sizzling summer heat: okra, sweet potatoes, southern peas, sunflowers, yard long beans,  green beans, hot peppers, zucchini, cucumber, eggplant, malabar spinach, corn and melons.
