Gainesville, Fla. – Adventure awaits readers of all ages during Summer at the Library throughout the Alachua County Library District with special entertainment, interactive programs and chance to win prizes all summer long. The fun starts with Summer Reader Palooza 2-4 p.m. Sunday, May 19 at Depot Park, 201 SE Depot Ave., Gainesville.

Adults and kids can register for Summer at the Library starting May 11 at www.aclib.us/track or any branch. Track your participation throughout starting June 1 for the chance to win a personalized library event for six people – including a MAKERspace party or art class. Winners will be selected in three categories – adults, teens and children.

Sign up and receive a free coloring book at Summer Reader Palooza on May 19. The whole family can enjoy crafts, balloon animals and tricks from Magic Mike, plus activities with community partners including the Sequential Artists Workshop, Florida Healthy Babies, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the CADE Museum, Fun 4 Gator Kids, Gainesville Rabbit Rescue and many more.

Summer at the Library programs include animal guests, awe-inspiring science experiments and dance parties. Check out the full calendar of events below:

All About the Space: Jacksonville’s Museum of Science and History utilizes videos, live demonstrations and interactive storytelling to guide teens through interplanetary, interstellar and intergalactic space while describing some of the physical forces and other phenomena that occur in our universe and beyond. Floridingers: Use black light and 3D glasses to help children experience books in a whole new way!
