Summer Reading Adventures begin on June 4 at the Alachua County Library District (ACLD). Reading and summer activities will celebrate heroes, the theme for this year’s Summer Reading program. Children are invited to learn that “Every Hero has a Story,” through programs like Professor DoDad’s Lab and the physics of superheroes or the Reptile Discovery Program that explores being a hero to different species. Kids can celebrate super summer reading success at Summer Reader Palooza on Saturday, August 8, 10:30 a.m. at Headquarters Library.

Teens are invited to “Unmask!” the hero within by reading all summer long and joining other teens from around the county for a FanFest Finale closing party at the Millhopper Branch on Friday, August 7, 6 p.m.

Adults can “Escape the Ordinary” as well this summer and participate in their own summer reading club.  Sign up, share reading adventures or book reviews online and participate in activities at area branch libraries.

Kids, teens and adults can register for the Summer Reading in person at any of ACLD’s 12 locations and two bookmobiles, or sign up starting June 4 through August 16 at: kids - www.aclib.us/kids/sr, teens - www.aclib.us/teens/sr and adults - www.aclib.us/adults/sr.
