Creative Writing Workshop Series - Express yourself through writing!
Teens! Like to write? Learn tips and techniques for creative writing through a series of three writing workshops being offered this month to celebrate National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)!
What: Creative Writing Workshops for Teens
When: Sat., Nov. 7th, 14th, & 21st, 11 AM-12 PM
Where: Headquarters Library, Foundation Room (next to the Teen Space)
Nov. 7th, Diane Colson: Ms. Colson is a writer and the 2015 Michael L. Printz Award for Excellence in Young Adult Literature Chair. She will include aspects of the Young Writers Program part of NaNoWriMo, though she'll mostly focus on different topics such as getting started, characterization and pacing. If you have a special topic of interest, she will touch on that as well.
Nov. 14th, Lauren Groff: Ms. Groff is the author of the novel The Monsters of Templeton, shortlisted for the Orange Prize for New Writers, Delicate Edible Birds, a collection of stories, and Arcadia, a New York Times Notable Book, winner of the Medici Book Club Prize, and finalist for the L.A. Times Book Award. Her third novel, Fates and Furies is shortlisted for the 2015 National Book Awards.
Nov. 21st, Ann Clare LeZotte: Ms. LeZotte, author of T-4, A Novel in Verse, is a children’s book author and poet. She will lead a workshop about writing a novel in verse.
