Visit your library branch for a Gingerbread craft/sweet construction this holiday season!
Tuesday, December 8, 4:30-5:30pm @ High Springs Library Branch: We are looking for teens to compete in building gingerbread houses out of graham crackers, jelly beans, marshmallows, Twizzlers, icing and other yummy treats. Last years competition was tight! The imagination was unbelievable and not to mention how much fun it is to construct an edible house. There will be a prize for the most original structure. Materials donated by the High Springs Friends of the Library.
Thursday, December 10, 2:00-5:00 PM @ Newberry Branch: Join us as we have our annual Gingerbread House Contest. All supplies provided, just bring your creativity and join in the fun anytime between 2-5pm.
Thursday, December 10, 4:00-5:30pm @ Headquarters Library: Ready for the winter Olympic games, Peeps style? Teens are invited to make and race these cute confections.
Monday, December 14, 3:00-4:00pm @ Tower Road Library: Which will you choose to decorate- a gingerbread man/woman, or a ninjabread cookie? Don't take too long to decide, or they might just get up and run away!
Sunday, December 20, 2:00-5:00pm @ Alachua Branch Library: Alachua Branch Library will be holding its Third Annual Gingerbread House Workshop at 2:00 on Sunday Dec. 20. Thanks to wonderful donations from our Alachua Branch Friends of the Library and the Walmart Distribution Center we are able to provide lots of fun decorations for kids and their families to create some fantastic houses. This year we will have plenty of graham cracker houses premade and ready to decorate. For those wanting to construct on their own, that will be available as well. It’s just an enjoyable afternoon to get in the holiday spirit. So plan to join us at 2:00 on Sunday, December 20 for holiday fun.
