Wii Gaming for Teens on Saturday the 2nd @ 3:30 in the Teen Space

Now the first Saturday of every month join us in the Teen Space for some Wii adventures. This is a fun way to spend your Saturday afternoon while meeting new people. 

SEWINGspace on Thursday the 7th @ 4:30 pm in Meeting Room B

Do you know how to sew by hand or by machine? Want to learn? Come to Meeting Room B and try out sewing by hand or with a machine.

CREATEspace Duct Tape Crafts on Friday the 8th @ 3:30 pm in the Teen Space

Get ready to make some cool stuff completely out of duct tape. Supplies will be provided.

Lunch-Break Yoga on Mondays at 12:00pm in Meeting Room A

Dates: 12/4, 12/11, & 12/18

Take a break with yoga! This yoga class is beginner friendly and appropriate for all levels of practice. A yoga mat, towel, and comfortable clothing are recommended.

Teen Book Club on Wednesdays @ 4:45pm in Meeting Room B

Dates: 12/6, 12/13, 12/20, & 12/27

HQ Teen Book Club meets every Wednesday to discuss our most recent book selections. All tweens and teens are welcome. 

Amrit Yoga with Veda on Thursdays at 5:30pm in Meeting Room A

Dates: 12/7, 12/14, 12/21, & 12/28

Coloring for Families on Thursdays at 6pm in the Storywoods Room

Dates: 12/7, 12/14, 12/21, & 12/28

Coloring sheets for kids, tweens, teens and adults will be provided. There will also be crayons and colored pencils.

Hour of Code: Code-In on Friday the 8th @ 3:30 in Meeting Room B

Hour of Code is a world wide program reaching millions of people to help demystify computer science and coding. Each year during Computer Science Education Week, events will be held to celebrate this effort. Join Alachua Public Library on Friday, December 8 at 3:30 to participate in a 1 hour coding tutorial so we can add our name to the events going on all over the world.

Hour of Code: Minecraft on Monday the 11th at 4:30 pm in the Storywoods Room

Come spend an hour learning coding and programming with fun games! What's Minecraft Hour of Code? It's a game where you use blocks of code to take Alex or Steve on an adventure through their Minecraft world. This session is for beginners to coding and programming. For more information about hour of code go to https://hourofcode.com/us

MAKERspace Perler Bead Art on Tuesday the 12th @ 4:30pm in the Foundation Room

Come to the Teen Space and have some fun making some really cool key chains, hair pins, magnets out of perler beads!

MAKERspace With Gainesville Cosplay Community on Tuesday the 12th @ 6pm in the Teen Space

We are joined by the Gainesville Cosplay Community to learn how to create and accessorize unique costumes and about 

MAKERspace Show and Tech on Wednesday the 13th @ 3pm in Meeting Room A

This is a great opportunity to see and learn about some of the new technology available at the library. There will be a 3D printer, robotics, and a chance to use a 3D Virtual Viewer. Come see some of our new tech in action!

Retro Video Gaming on Thursday the 21st @ 5pm in the Teen Space

This fall at the library come and join your friends in the Teen Space for Retro Video Gaming where you get to play video games that your parents used to play when they were your age!
