Teen Summer Reading

Hey teens, join the fun this summer and sign up for Teen Summer Reading.

Teens can sign up for the Summer Reading in person or at any of the 12 libraries and two bookmobiles, or online June 9 through August 7: www.aclib.us/teens/sr.

Just for signing up, you will receive a nifty green backpack that contains incentives from the library and local businesses--and a library scratch-off ticket. Scratch-off tickets will reveal one of three results: you win an advanced reader's copy of a YA novel; you win a pair of earbuds; or you win a raffle ticket for big prizes at the end of the summer party, Fandom Games.

You can get an additional four scratch-off tickets during the summer, by reading five books or attending five library programs, or any combination of the two.

Keep track of what you read online at www.aclib.us/teens/sr, or via Instagram. How can you track summer reading through Instagram?  Use your Instagram account to follow the Alachua County Library District (https://instagram.com/alachuacountylibrary/) and complete each weekly challenge. For each challenge you complete, you'll receive a raffle ticket for the Fandom Games. Check our Instagram each Thursday for a new challenge. Make sure you use the hashtag listed in the challenge, it will start with #aclibtsr each week.

Fandom Games will take place at the Millhopper Branch Library on Friday, August 5 at 6:00 pm. All teens are invited, whether or not they signed up for the summer reading program. Activities at the event will include Daryl Dixon's Zombie Strike, Gamesville Tabletop gaming, face painting, and K-pop karaoke. Refreshments will include donated pizza!

Keep checking the library webpage (www.aclib.us/events) for more details about Fandom Games and other fun teen programs!
