UF Mobile Outreach Clinic switches to Monday service at Cone Park Branch

Effective September 21, the University of Florida (UF) Mobile Outreach Clinic will provide its free primary health care services at the Cone Park Branch Library, 2801 E. University Avenue, on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. not Thursdays. Other library stops include: Equal Access Clinic at Tower Road Branch, 3020 S.W. 75 Street, Mondays 6 to 9 p.m.; Library Partnership, 1130 N.E. 16 Avenue, Tuesdays 1 to 4 p.m. and Headquarters Library, 401 E. University Avenue, Wednesdays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Services include health screenings and education, family medical services, family planning, resources and referrals provided by the University of Florida in conjunction with the College of Medicine, Alachua County Health Department, the Equal Access Clinic and the School of Physician Assistant Studies. Services are offered at no charge, on a first come, first serve basis.

Alachua County Library District is partnering with the UF Mobile Outreach Clinic to bring primary health care services to medically underserved populations across Gainesville. Libraries provide access to targeted populations, parking space, plug in service for the bus and interior meeting rooms for additional counseling and referral services for patients so the interior bus space can accommodate patient medical needs. District Library staff members are also trained to help individuals with online applications for services and needed resources.
