Come join us in a county wide participation of 352Creates. This is a 2 day event where the community comes together to create activities together. It is a network of individuals, organizations, and businesses united by the idea that creativity connects our community and makes us healthier and stronger. The Alachua County Library District is proud to be participating. We have several branches doing amazing things with our community:
As part of the 352Creates community engagement program, come de-stress and express yourself by getting creative. Help us color the mandalas on our tables, pick your own printed coloring sheet, or color a bookmark. A mandala is a complex abstract design that is usually circular in form.
Stay for a little while or spend the day. We will have colored pencils, crayons, and markers available, but feel free to bring your own. For kids of all ages!
352Creates: Mandalas; 2 - 4; 3/25
Stressed? Come learn about the healing effects that drawing mandalas has on our physical, emotional and mental bodies. Mandalas are circles that when created allow the unconscious mind to express itself. Excellent for stress, confusion, chattering minds, and people with or without disabilities. Evelyn G. Rodriguez, M.A. a trained Mandala facilitator will be leading the program. No artistic ability required and supplies will be available. Come to a 352Creates event at the Headquarters Library.
352Creates: Kids Mural: All day; 3/24, 3/25
Kids celebrate 352 Creates by making their own super-long chalk mural all day long on Friday and Saturday on March 24 and 25. Join us in the Children's Department at the Headquarters library.
Come get creative and healthy by being a part of 352Creates. Spend an afternoon coloring or making birthday cards. All materials are provided, but feel free to bring your own. The goal of 352Creates is to create healthy communities through everyday acts of creativity - founded on the idea that anyone, using even the simplest of materials, can created something amazing.
Make a meditative art piece using the simplest objects: a coffee cup and colored pencils or markers.
352Creates: Don’t be Impatiens; 9 – 12; 3/25
Grow one instead! Participants are invited to decorate a small pot into which they can plant impantiens seeds.
Come and celebrate the community wide 352Creates event at Cone Park. This year we will be celebrating art by letting patrons leave their mark on our library, literally. Help us create a mural of handprints by leaving your mark.
