Library cards

Alachua County Library District cards are free to Florida residents with photo ID.  With them you can borrow books and DVDs, reserve a computer, download eBooks and audiobooks, magazines, or music, or use our eSources to research your family tree, investments, or car repair instructions (among other things).

Meeting rooms

Meeting rooms are available by appointment and on a first-come first-served basis, with restrictions.

You can borrow and download magazines from Flipster and RBdigital.

Free mp3s

You can download five free mp3s, legally, each week from Freegal.

Purchase suggestions

If we don't own it, you can ask us to add it to our collection.

Interlibrary loan (ILL)

If we don't own it, you might be able to borrow it from another library system.

Computers, WiFi, Printing, and Copying

Reserve a computer in advance at any of our branches, use the free WiFi, and print from our computers or print wirelessly from your laptop. Printing and copying is 10 cents per black and white page and $1 per color page.  Scanning to email or a flash drive is also now available at most branches.


We offer free proctoring services for educational institutions.  Other proctoring requests will be contingent on staff availability.

Homebound services

Need an ADA accommodation?  We can mail print materials to the homebound in Alachua County. Call (352) 334-3956 or start the signup process online.

Literacy / Tutoring / ESOL

We offer basic literacy and ESOL services for adults in Alachua County.
