
Meet bestselling author and illustrator Victoria Jamieson for a book talk and Q&A on Wednesday, July 21, 11 a.m. on Zoom and Facebook.
Victoria Jamieson is a New York Times bestselling author and illustrator of books for children. Her graphic novel, Roller Girl, was awarded a 2016 Newbery Honor. Her newest graphic novel, When Stars are Scattered, co-written with Omar Mohamed, was a National Book Award finalist and is a Sunshine State Young Readers Award 6-8 Book for 2021-2022. She lives with her family in Pennsylvania. When Stars are Scattered was selected by local teens as one of the titles for this summer's Battle of the Books.
Victoria received her BFA in illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design and worked as a children's book designer before becoming a freelance illustrator. She has also worked as a portrait artist aboard a cruise ship and has lived in Australia, Italy, and Canada.
This author visit coincides with the Teen Battle of the Books summer trivia competition, where teens from many of the Alachua County Library District's branches compete to see who knows the three selected titles best!
