Spring Teen Art Show Wrap-Up

The Spring Teen Art Show for ages 16-19 was Saturday, April 28th. Forty pieces of exceptional art were entered by talented teens from around the community.We had artwork in various mediums inlcuding oil paintings, pencil drawings, photography, short videos, mixed media, watercolor, and more. Artists and their families attended an award ceremony Saturday morning at the Headquarters Library. All of the artwork was put on display on Saturday and Sunday and patrons could even vote for their favorite. A big thanks to Fresh Market for their generous donation of flowers and snacks for the reception.

Five judges from around the community, including art coordinators from The Harn and professors from UF's College of Arts, had the difficult task of awarding the best of the best.

Another judge, local artist Gracy Castine said "I was so impressed by the wide array of mediums and perspectives. Please continue to pursue your creative endeavours. Art is good for everyone."

The winning artwork will be on display outside of the Teen Space on the 3rd floor of the Headquarters Library through May.
