Come enjoy reading and virtually discussing newer fiction and nonfiction titles. We discuss each title on Goodreads for a whole month. We also virtually discuss it LIVE via Zoom on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. The Zoom link can be found monthly on our Live Virtual Program page and will be posted at the beginning of each month on the Goodreads monthly discussion board.
In July, we will be discussing Mrs. Everything by Jennifer Weiner. Jo and Bethie Kaufman grew up in 1950s Detroit, where Jo is the bookish rebel; Bethie is the pretty, good girl. As their lives unfold against the background of free love and Vietnam, Woodstock and women’s lib, Bethie becomes a wild child of the counterculture, while Jo becomes a proper young mother in Connecticut. Neither woman has a life that feels authentic or brings her joy. Is it too late for them stake a claim on happily ever after? The Zoom discussion will be Tuesday, July 13 at 1 p.m.
