Celebrating the life of Kentaro Miura

On May 6, 2021, famed mangaka Kentaro Miura passed away from an aortic dissection at the age of 54. Born on July 11, 1966 in Chiba, Japan, he had been writing manga since 1985 and continued to do so until his death. His family held a private service and announced the news on May 20, 2021. His most famous work, Berserk, had been in publication since 1989 and currently over 50 million copies are in circulation, making it one of the most successful manga series of all time. It has also spawned several anime adaptions, and is critiocally acclaimed for its deft handling of dark subject matter, fleshed out characters, fascinating storylines, and Miura's highly detailed and distinct art style.
