MEG! Who Knew!

Many years after Peter Benchley published Jaws, and spawned the subsequent movies causing a general shark phobia at the beach, Steve Alten developed and published a series of shark books.  The first book in the series, THE MEG is being released as a blockbuster summer movie. The MEG series is set around the fictitious survival of the megalodon, a giant, prehistoric shark. There are many readers who have been faithfully following the MEG books and whenever this librarian needed to find a book for an older, reluctant young adult reader-MEG was the hit.

The MEG series of seven books have been published between 1997 and 2018 (a possible new book coming in 2019). By clicking on the MEG book cover below, you can find all the books we own in print, ebook, and audio book. Be prepared to be terrified!

Steve Alten has several other series and novels with the fantasyand/or science fiction thriller theme. Be sure to click here to see what is available. Steve Alten has also established Adopt-An-Author is a free nationwide non-profit program designed to excite young adults about reading and writing through the use of best-selling thrillers, heroic non-fiction stories, motivational books and direct contact with the authors via personal appearances, classroom phone calls, e-mails, and interactive websites. As an educator, Alten saw the need for a program such as this for the reluctant young adult readers and interested teachers can register free at the Adopt an Author site.
