Allegiant, a book review by Julia

The final entry in the Divergent series follows Tris and Tobias as they venture beyond the limits of their city, their home.  After learning about the history of the city and the origins of the Factions, the characters are forced to come to terms with who they really are, and the value society places on them based on alleged genetic markers for damage and purity.  This struggle leads Tris and Tobias down a path that will test their courage and their love for one another, as well as for their families and their Faction.

This was my favorite book in the series because it had the perfect mix of action, romance, and twists.  I enjoyed reading Tobias’s point of view, and I thought including his thoughts was a fresh way to explore his character.  The turning points were intriguing, but the ending left me stunned.  I have mixed feelings about it, but I admire the strong message it sends to the reader.  If you love the characters as much as I do, you won’t want to miss Allegiant.
