A great read for children and adults alike, this is a lovely story with fun art and a great message. Unique among picture books, this story is told through image panels and speech bubbles much like a graphic novel which makes for a very engaging storytime. There's also a nice educational section in the back that talkes about the importance of conservation as well as some of the creatures that live in ponds and rivers.
If you like this book, take a look at Spike: the mixed-up monster by Susan Hood or Crab Cake by Andrea Tsurumi. Happy reading!
