Millhopper School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

The September Class Schedule

Remember: Registration is required for all events and will open 1 week prior to the program date.  You can register online, by phone, or in person.  Classes may fill up, and you may not be able to attend a program if you do not pre-register.

These programs will all earn you 3 House Points, but don't forget to bring your Student ID booklet with you to get it stamped.  It is the only way to keep track of your points.  Stamps can be redeemed for House points any time during the first 7 days of each month.

September 13: The Sorting Ceremony

  • The Sorting Ceremony was a huge success!  Thank you to everyone who was able to participate.
  • If you haven’t received your student ID booklet, give us a call at 334-1272 or send an email to msww@aclib.us

September 20 at 5:00 PM: Dumbledore’s Army

  • This is our Teen Advisory Group turned Wizarding School program.  Have ideas about programs you would like to see offered at the library?  Now’s your chance to let us know.

September 23 at 1:30 pm: Harry Potter Movie Workout Challenge

  • This program is open to all ages and will provide a fun way to get healthy.  Watch the movies and exercise at the same time.
  • Teens click here to register.  Everyone else click here to register.

September 26 at 4:30 PM and September 27 at 6:00 PM:  OWLs

  • Our version of the Ordinary Wizarding Level Examinations.  It’s book trivia!  This month’s trivia will focus on book one: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.  Think you can answer the questions because you watched the movie?  Think again.
  • Sign up for one or the other, but please don’t register for both.  This will allow more people to participate.
  • Stop by the reference desk at the Millhopper Branch Library if you need a copy of the book.  We have a supply available on a first come, first served basis.
  • To Register for the September 26th program click here.  For the September 27th program click here.

Don't forget, you can earn House points by attending ANY library program at ANY library around the district.  Check out the calendar of events for a full listing of programs.  Make sure to have your Student ID booklet ready to collect your stamps at these programs.

You can also earn House points by reading books from our Class Lists and writing reviews.  You can access the reading lists and write reviews through Beanstack.  If you need to get your login information, stop by the library and ask.  Points earned through Beanstack reviews will be awarded at the Graduation Ceremony in April.

Passive Activities will be available each month.  They are worth 1 House point each and are in the Teen Room here at Millhopper.

Have any questions about Millhopper School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?  Give us a call at 334-1272 or send an email to msww@aclib.us.

One more important thing: In all the Harry Potter books, there was a mystery to solve.  Millhopper School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is not different.  Throughout the year, look for clues.  You might find them in a library display or a passive program.  You never know when or where a clue will turn up.
