Seeds and Summer at the Library!

Picture of Palestine Heirloom SeedsJoin us this summer at the library to learn more about and borrow from the Headquarters Branch Seed Library. Located on the 3rd floor near our magazines, we offer a wide variety of starter seeds and information on how to start your very own garden. While the summer may be too hot to plant most crops, here is a list of some crops that thrive best in Florida's sizzling summer heat: okra, sweet potatoes, southern peas, sunflowers, yard long beans,  green beans, hot peppers, zucchini, cucumber, eggplant, malabar spinach, corn and melons.
