Millhopper School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

Hogwarts CastleMSWW Enrollment

It all begins again on July 31, 2018

Year Two begins with an Enrollment Reception on July 31, 2018 from 2-4 p.m.  Celebrate Harry Potter’s Birthday by enrolling in Year Two.  This is for new and returning students of Millhopper School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Here, you will fill out all necessary paperwork and learn more about the exciting things we have planned for the second year of MSWW.

Diagon AlleyOllivanders

Visit Diagon Alley on Saturday, Aug. 18 from 2-3 p.m.  Here you will get two very important items every witch and wizard needs - your wand from Ollivander’s and a Quill Pen from Scribbulus.

The Sorting Ceremony

How it all begins...

The Sorting Ceremony will take place in the Great Hall at MSWW on Sep. 5, 2018.  Registered students will depart the Millhopper Branch Library for the Official Sorting Ceremony.

Each witch and wizard will have the Sorting Hat placed upon his or her head.  The Sorting Hat will magically determine your MSWW House.

The Classes

Or...How to earn House points.

Attending any program at any library in Alachua County will earn you 5 House points.

OWLs: Harry Potter Book Trivia each month will focus on a different book, but be warned the questions come from the books NOT the movies

Harry Potter Movie Scene Charades: Have fun acting out some of our favorite scenes from the Harry Potter movies.  You'll earn House points for attending and can earn even more House points for participating.

Dumbledore’s Army: Each month, we will have a Harry Potter-themed craft from the book we are reading that month.

Harry Potter Movie: Watch a movie each month in celebration of completing your OWL exams.

“While you are here, your house will be something like your family...your triumphs will earn your house points.”
~Professor McGonagall

We will also have classes throughout the year to focus on specific coursework.  These are but a few.

* Transfigurations
* Millhopper Greenhouse Classroom

* Care of Magical Creatures
* Potions
* Defense Against the Dark Arts
* Astronomy
* History of Magic

Passive Activities

Can’t make it to the programs?  No problem, you can still earn 5 points each month by completing our passive activities.  Look for the passives at the library or posted with our monthly blog on our Millhopper Branch page.  Students will also have access to an exclusive MSWW Google Classroom and will be able to see announcements, participate in class discussions, and submit passive activities online.

The House Cup

Who Will Win the House Cup?

In April, we will have a Graduation Ceremony.  Participants who have earned an average of 5 points per month will receive a Certificate of Completion and the House Cup will be awarded to the House who has earned the most points throughout the year.

The trophy, along with the House Flag, will be displayed at the Millhopper Library until the next year of Millhopper School of Witchcraft and Wizardry begins.
