Gainesville, Fla. – Just in time for Valentine's Day, the Alachua County Library District is giving patrons more movies to love by increasing the DVD checkout limit from 8 to 12 items starting Feb. 1.

Library cardholders will also be able to check out DVDs for two weeks instead of one. Patrons can check out DVDs at all 12 locations and two bookmobiles and return them to any branch.

Patrons can browse and place holds on our collection of more than 130,515 new movies, classic films, hit TV shows, foreign cinema, and documentaries 24 hours a day online. In fiscal year 2018-2019, the Library District recorded more than 1.3 million DVD checkouts, including renewals.
