“Get Caught Reading is a nationwide, year-round campaign to promote the fun of reading books for all ages. Ms. Tracey Caught Reading

Mrs. Tracey was caught reading 'Echo' by Pam Munoz Ryan.

Her favorite book is ‘A Little Princess’ by Frances Hodgson Burnett. In ‘A Little Princess’, set in London, the main character Sara Crewe is wealthy little girl attending a boarding school in London. After her father’s death and the money is gone, the child is treated poorly by fellow students and the headmistress. The story has a surprise ending, an escapist monkey, as well as many adaptations, films, and plays.

Ms. Lisa was caught reading ‘Captain Fantastic: Elton John’s Stellar Trip through the 70s’ by Tom Doyle. This book traces Elton John’s behind the scenes look at his life. It also explores his relationship with his longtime friend Bernie Taupin that he has written many songs with.

Mr. Ross Caught Reading

Mr. Ross was caught reading a copy of MAD magazine. 

His favorite book is Unflattening by Nick Sousanis – a graphic novel that encourages readers to see ideas from a combination of viewpoints stemming from science, philosophy, history, art and mythology.  Images and ideas morph into new connections reminding us of the benefit to see beyond what meets the eye.

Mr. John Caught Reading

Mr. John was caught reading 'Paper Towns' by John Green. 'Paper Towns' is a YA book about a high school senior named Quentin who has loved a high school senior named Margo Roth Spiegelman for years from afar. One late night Margo comes unexpectedly to Quentin’s bedroom window to ask him to go on a campaign of revenge against people who did Margo wrong. This is where the adventure begins.

Ms. Jessica Caught Reading

Mrs. Jessica was caught reading her favorite book at the moment, 'The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise' by Dan Gemeinhart. There are so many twists and turns in this story, and so many folks joining Coyote on her remarkable journey across the country in a converted school bus with her dad. There’s plenty of heart and enough suspense to keep things interesting! Mrs. Jessica says, "It’s also on the current SSYRA list for grades 6-8. I think it’s a perfect book!"

Ms. Pat Caught Reading

Pat  got caught reading, Homebody: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave by Joanna Gaines.  She says, “It includes a design template that you can use to sketch out ideas for every room with spaces for notes about your plan, what to eliminate, what to troubleshoot, and what to invest in.  This book is full of great photos to inspire you.  Are you renovating, decorating, or remodeling?  If so, you’ll find this book very helpful!

Ms. Pat Caught Reading 2

Pat’s favorite book is Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White.  It’s a children’s fantasy story about the value of true friendship and the power of encouraging words.  Fern’s dilemma will grip young readers from the start, and the mysterious writing that appears in Charlotte’s spider-web adds suspense.  Kids want to know:  What will happen next?
