The construction and remodeling is finishing up this week. Everyone is invited to celebrate the completion on Saturday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. Come see the newly added 3,200 sq. ft. which creates a total of 8,200 sq. ft. of new and renovated space designed to meet the needs of our High Springs community.
The expansion also offers more parking. We will use xeriscaping with two 400-gallon rain barrels for irrigation to conserve water. We will use the Library District’s automation system for cooling and heating to improve energy efficiency in order to consume less energy and save money.
Community businesses and organizations will be part of this celebration event. Library District board members, local dignitaries and special guests will deliver brief remarks followed by a ribbon cutting, reception and library tours. We hope many families and friends will come see all the improvements to our library and enjoy refreshments provided by GFWC High Springs New Century Woman's Club and celebration cakes provided by Friends of the High Springs Library. Thompson's Flower Shop is providing flowers and decorations. Other contributions include individual bags of penuts from Golden Peanut & Tree Nuts of High Springs and pens from Kelly D. Barber, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones.

We thank our library users for their patience during the construction and look forward to serving you in a much improved space.
