Keynote Speaker - Marvel Artist Jerry DeCaire

DeCaire presents his signature live-drawing performance and workshop from 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A
Marvel comic artist Jerry DeCaire has been illustrating comic books since 1991, including Deadpool, Thor, Wolverine, and other popular Marvel Entertainment superheroes.
Featured Speaker Emmanuel Payne

Local artist Emmanuel Payne specializes in comic cartoons and interactive art experiences for families and schools. He will present a comics program geared toward children from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. in Meeting Room B on the 3rd floor.
Parking
Parking in the library lot is free but limited. However, parking in most city metered spaces is free on weekends, except for spaces which are marked as reserved. Reserved spaces are restricted at all times. Please check the signage before parking in a city space.
Additional free parking is available in the grassy lot of the Alachua County Schools District Office, located two blocks east of the Library.
If you prefer to park in a garage, parking is available for a fee at the city-owned SW Parking garage at 105 SW 3rd St, and at the privately-owned Downtown Parking lot at 220 SE 2nd Ave.
Fan Art Show
Calling all fan artists!
Show off your creativity at the Fandomonium Fan Art Show, an all-ages celebration of fandoms, art, and imagination!
Submit your artwork at any Alachua County Library District location from August 1 to September 8. All entries must be accompanied by a signed entry form with the full list of rules (PDF, MSWord). Fandomonium is a family-friendly event, and all artwork must be suitable for viewing by all ages.
We look forward to seeing your artwork showcased at the Headquarters Library September 12 through 30!

Registration (required) 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Graphic Novels section on the 3rd floor.
Time to show off your cosplay! The contest will be divided up by age group: Kids (ages 1-11), Teens (ages 12-17), and Adults (ages 18+).
In addition to the age groups, there will also be a Masterclass group. To participate in this group of the competition, participants must have created at least 50% of their costume themselves.

- Cosplays must adhere to the Fandomonium costume policy at all times.
- There will be a prop check to enter the main event and an additional prop check will take place prior to the Costume Contest.
- Participants must sign a release form for photos to be taken at the event.
- This is a family-friendly event, so all costumes should be suitable to be viewed by all ages.
Pokémon Go Meet-Up
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Teen Space on the 3rd floor
Calling all Pokémon Go trainers! Stop by the Teen Space to meet other local Pokémon Go players. While you are there, enjoy other Pokémon activities and crafts.
Trivia Contest
12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. near the MakerSpace on the 3rd floor
Show off your trivia knowledge! The trivia events are for all ages. There will be two separate levels of difficulty to accommodate as many fans as possible.
