The Throne of Glass Series: Is it worth the time commitment?

It is likely that by now, many fans of the YA Fantasy genre have heard of the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. Personally, I'm sad to say that I was a little late to the game on this one. When I began reading the series at the beginning of 2019, the seventh and final book in the series, Kingdom of Ash, had already been out for a few months. Now that I have finally finished said final book (a year and half later), I have some thoughts!

The series follows Celaena Sardothien, an eighteen-year-old assassin, as she competes to become the Royal Assassin for the King of Adarlan, ends up reclaiming her true identity, kicks butt, takes names, and looks good while doing it! Although in addition to the sassy, swaggering Celaena, the real star of this series might be the skill with which Sarah J. Maas builds and creates fantastical worlds. There are fae, demons, creatures from other worlds, magical gifts, some romance... the list goes on!

This series completely sucked me in and held me captive in its world until I finished the last page of the final book (and maybe even for a little while afterwards). I've definitely lost track of all the friends and family members that had to hear me talk (i.e., scream, yell, cry) about this series. Maas provides such vivid descriptions, interesting characters, and exciting plot twists that it makes putting the books down almost impossible. I can honestly say I will probably read whatever this author writes. And because she keeps writing more books, it gives me something to look forward to!

So, to repeat my initial question: Is reading the entire series worth the time commitment you will inevitably make in order to know what happens in the end?

My answer: YES! What are you waiting for?!
