
The Alachua County Library District is pleased to announce our inaugural Kids Summer Art Show. The show will showcase original artwork created by community members who are aged 5-11.
All entries must be accompanied by a signed entry form (PDF, MSWord) and may be dropped off at any Alachua County Library District location. Entries will be accepted no earlier than Tuesday, July 1, and no later than Sunday, July 27, 2025. Each participant may enter up to 2 pieces of artwork.
There will be a reception at the Headquarters Library on Saturday, Aug. 2, from Noon to 4 p.m. All submitted artwork will be on display, and visiting patrons will be able to enjoy the collective talent of our youngest patrons.
- Entry Rules
Entrants must be between the ages of 5-11 and a Florida resident.
Each entrant is limited to two pieces of artwork. Entries will be accepted from July 1, through July 27, 2025. Artwork must be submitted to one of the 12 Alachua County Library District (ACLD) locations with a completed entry form.
All artwork must be the original work of the entrant. Youth are encouraged to attend ACLD art programs and submit works made during those programs.Coloring sheets and AI-generated images – including AI-assisted images—will not be accepted. Artwork made of food items are not permitted.
Artwork should abide by ACLD’s Exhibit and Display Policy found at https://www.aclib.us/exhibit-and-display-policy.
Artwork should be labeled on the back of the piece with the artist's full name and the title of the piece. Physical artwork must be no larger than 24” in any dimension.
All artworks will be displayed on the library’s website, https://www.aclib.us/kids-art-show, and on the library’s affiliated social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, and YouTube, for the duration of the show and any extension thereof.All artworks will be on display to the public at the Headquarters Library from Aug. 2 through Aug. 24, 2025.
The exhibition will open on August 2, 2025. The opening will also feature art stations in the Storywoods room where everyone is invited to try out different art techniques and media. Stations will include clay sculpting, collage, and watercolor.All artworks must be picked up from the location where it was submitted by September 30, 2025. Artwork not picked up by that time will become property of ACLD in accordance with the Gifts to the Library section of the ACLD Collection Development and Maintenance Policy found HERE.
