Gainesville, Fla. –  A broad partnership of local service providers is holding a conference for community members facing obstacles to employment. At the annual Re-Entry Partnership Conference individuals can gain job skills and critical gear to help with re-entering the workforce. The event will be held at the Library Partnership Branch of the Alachua County Library District
This two-day conference will be held Monday April 22 and Tuesday April 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is to help justice-impacted individuals and others facing challenges integrating into the workforce. Day one of the conference will feature breakout sessions on housing, mental health, substance abuse, recovery, and employment. Representatives will be available to address eligibility and provide resource to those who have served in the U.S. Military. On day two participants can build their own workforce re-entry kits. Individuals can acquire professional interview clothing, library cards, identification cards, as well as visit with more than a dozen local service providers. Refreshments will be provided.
Participants can register for the conference in advance at www.aclib.us/Reentry. Walk-ins are also welcome. Attendees will also be able to earn community service hours for attending the conference.
“At the Re-Entry Conference this year, we hope individuals will come out to learn valuable job-related skills and hear how others, with similar experiences, have overcome.” said Shandra Nichols, conference co-chair and Partnership for Strong Families Resource Center Manager. “In doing so we hope participants will gain valuable knowledge and skills to motivate them in their job search.”
