Gainesville, Fla. – Check out new STEM Kits for children at any Alachua County Library Branch to spark discoveries in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Fifteen kits are available for check out starting Monday, Aug. 16. Each kit includes an interactive toy, book, and DVD on a STEM theme curated for children ages 3 through fifth graders.

“This collection is a wonderful resource for promoting STEM learning for young patrons and their families. We can’t wait to see the patrons checking them out and enjoying them,” said Youth Services Librarian Supervisor Gail Carr.

The Rotary Club of Gainesville supported this new collection with a $1,500 donation. STEM Kits check out for 14 days. Library cardholders can reserve one kit at a time to pick up at any library branch and return the kits at any location. Kit themes include electricity, the human body, birding, microscopic discoveries, and more. Explore the kits at www.aclib.us/stemkits or place one on hold by searching “STEM Kit” in the catalog at https://catalog.aclib.us/.
