Starting August 4th, you can buy (or checkout from your local library using our curbside service) the newest installment of The Twilight saga, Stephenie Meyer's Midnight Sun.  In this retelling of the first novel, Meyer relays events through Edward's eyes to provide a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire. As we learn more fascinating details about Edward's past and the complexity of his inner thoughts, we understand why this is the defining struggle of his life.

While you're waiting to read the new book, it's a good time to reread the original quadrology, or to visit the world of Twilight for the very first time.  Alachua County Library District carries all four original novels (as well as the Bree Tanner novella, the graphic novel, and the gender-swapped Twilight) in regular print, ebook, audio and downloadable audio.  We also carry all five films from the hit series, available on DVD.

It all begins with the original Twilight.  Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn.  What's his dark secret?  From there, Bella faces many of the common coming-of-age challenges while navigating this fantasy world of telepaths, vampire armies, werewolves, and so on, creating one of the most popular franchises of the twenty-first century. From there you can read/watch its sequels, all available in our library catalogue.
