Gainesville, Fla. – The Alachua County Library District will offer browsing hours six days a week at five branches and update operating hours across all 12 locations starting Monday, Sept. 28. Gainesville, Fla. – The Alachua County Library District and Library Specialist Ann Le Zotte received accolades on Friday, Sept. 11 from the Northeast Florida Library Information Network (NEFLIN). Le Zotte received NEFLIN’s Member of the Year Award for providing inclusive programs to underserved children and teens, particularly patrons with disabilities and the LGBTQ community.

Gainesville, Fla. – The Alachua County Library District is chomping into National Library Card Sign-Up Month this September with a special poster for new cardholders, available while supplies last. The illustrated poster features an alligator encircling the word “Read.” New patrons can sign up for a library card using curbside service 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday at all 12 library branches.

Gainesville, Fla. – Get a little help picking your next read or watch with the Alachua County Library District’s new Grab & Go service. Launching this week, patrons can call their preferred branch to request a bag of materials tailored to their tastes and ready to pick up in just one hour. Parents and guardians can also pick up a curated Story Time in a Bag for children. Both services are free and available to anyone with a library card.

The Alachua County Library District will offer computer and copier use by appointment only at all branches starting Monday, July 20. Patrons will be required to complete a health screening, wear a face covering, and maintain six feet of distance from staff members and other patrons.
