Gainesville, Fla. – All Alachua County Library District branches will be closed Sunday, July 4, and Monday, July 5 to observe Independence Day. All branches will resume their current schedules on Tuesday, July 6.Book drops and online services at www.aclib.us will be available during all closings. Children and caregivers can read, laugh, and sing at outdoor story times lead by library staff at Story Time on the Green four days a week across Alachua County starting June 29 through Oct. 2. Library staff will read tales and share activities perfect for infants through 5-year-olds at library green spaces and parks. Parents and families can bring blankets and chairs to spread out. Story Time on the Green will be held at 10 a.m., weather permitting, as follows:

Gainesville, Fla. – The Millhopper Branch will be partially closed starting Monday, May 3 for painting and recarpeting. The branch will only be open for holds pickup Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday 12-5 p.m. Browsing, computer appointments, and copier services will not be available for approximately four weeks.

Gainesville, Fla. – Alachua County residents can check out mobile hotspots from the Alachua County Library District starting Thursday, April 1 with the new WiFi2Go pilot program. One hundred hotspots will be available for checkout. Hotspots check out for seven days and can connect up to five devices to the Internet. Service depends on the availability of the T-Mobile network where the hotspot is used.
