Gainesville, Fla. – Alachua County teens can register now to compete in the Alachua County Library District’s annual Battle of the Books online in July and receive free copies of this year’s books while supplies last.

Gainesville, Fla. – Summer with the Library lifts off May 29 with all programming and fun going online. Community members can register at www.aclib.us/summer and track their participation from May 29-Aug. 2 for a chance to win a new Samsung Galaxy Tablet, courtesy of Summer with the Library sponsor PDQ Restaurant.

Gainesville, Fla. – The Alachua County Library District will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, 2020. All branches will be closed. Book drops and online services at www.aclib.us will be available. All branches will resume curbside service at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Curbside service is available 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at all branches. For more information, call Rachel Cook at 352-334-3909.

Gainesville, Fla. – The Alachua County Library District will begin offering curbside service only at all branch locations on Wednesday, May 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Book drops are open for returns starting Wednesday, May 6. Starting Wednesday, May 13, patrons can follow these steps to check out and return items.

Gainesville, Fla. – All Alachua County Library District locations will remain closed until further notice due to the continued threat of COVID-19 (coronavirus). All library programs and meeting room reservations are suspended.The Library District leadership chose to extend the closure to protect the health and safety of patrons and staff. The Library District leadership team will continue to monitor the directives of the Center for Disease Control, as well as local and state orders.

Gainesville, Fla. – All Alachua County Library District locations will remain closed through Sunday, April 12, with tentative plans to reopen on Monday, April 13. The Library District closed all branches starting Sunday, March 15 and suspended all programs and meeting room reservations through Thursday, April 30. Patrons can access digital resources from anywhere 24 hours a day at www.aclib.us/mobile.

Gainesville, Fla. – The Alachua County Library District is extending dates for checked out items, expiring cards, and holds during the district’s closure from March 15 through Sunday, March 29.

Saturday, March 14, 2020
Gainesville, Fla. – The Alachua County Library District will close all branches and bookmobiles from Sunday, March 15 through Sunday, March 29, 2020, out of an abundance of caution in response to the global outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus disease). Branches will be open normal hours tomorrow, Saturday, March 14. Currently, branches are scheduled to reopen on Monday, March 30. All library programs are suspended through Sunday, April 5.
